Is Melatonin Advisable For An Elderly Person Suffering With Dementia?
My 88 year old father has dementia. He realizes he s losing his mind and very depressed. Problem being (selfishly for me as well) he sleeps all day while i am at work and therefore is up all night. I want to give him melatonin as I feel it is a safe option of sleep aids but I am not quite sure. I just took one myself so if he gets up again he s on his own. (kidding)
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, certain geriatric symptoms are very common in this age and this is nothing to worry, and no need to give any sedative but such aged patient need great moral support, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
