Is Metamucil Advisable For Diarrhea And Lower Abdominal Pain?

I have experienced severe lower stoch cramps followed by diarrhea lasting most of the night. I treated it with Imodium which took all for tablets to stop it. This happened three times in one month. My doctor recommends Metamucil. I have not begun yet. Any reason for the cramps, etc.?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It seems like a GIT infection. take Ofloxacycilin and Ornidazole combination twice a day for five days. Take Dicyclomine and paracetamol combination 2 times a day for five days. Take Pantoprazole and Domperidone combination drug twice a day for five days empty stomach. It will be a better option. Thanks for trusting health care magic.
