Is Metformin The Right Substitute For Glycomet?

Hello Doctor, Till Now I was taking Glycomet 1gm twice a day. Since, we moved to Europe, came to know that this particular medicine is not available here. They are asking me to switch to Metformin 850mg twice a day. Can you advice me that if both the content are same and Metformin 850mg will substitute Glycomet 1gm. Thanks Bhavna

Glycomet contains metformin and all the new doctor is doing is giving you the same drug in a slightly lower dosage, thats all.
