Hello Clydia, Methocarbamol is not a narcotic and carisoprodol (soma) is a related drug. If this drug is not effective for you, you can try other muscle relaxants like chlorzoxazone, tizanidine, baclofen , flexeril after discussing with your doctor. Also visit a physiotherapist for muscle relaxation exercises. Hope this helps. Thanks.
