Is Microgynon The Right Medication For PCOS And Cyclothymia?

I got diognosed with pcos 9years ago and also suffer with syclothemia...I find both are affected/controlled by my hormone levels. I have asked for a hormone level test but my gp says there is no such thing I have used many forms of contraception to regulate my periods but when I am not in a sexual relationship I prefer to be pill free to give my body a break as I worry about my future fertility and I like to see if my body is able to regulate its self. I have been pill free since last Nov and only had a period in may this year. I have asked to be put bk on the pill and my gp gave me microginon 30. Is this the most suitable pill for me its is a dose of 150micrograms of progestogen and 30micrograms of oestrogen ethinylestradial. It states to start on the first day of your period but as I dont have them should I just start straight away??

Microgynon is a combined oral contraceptive pill a commonly used in the management of patients with Polycystic ovaries. They induce predictable cyclic menses, reduce luteinizing hormone secretion and thus lower ovarian androgen production; the estrogen component increases sex hormone-binding globulin, thus reducing free androgens. Hence you can definitely start the drug.

Cyclothymia is a rare mood disorder which has similar characteristics of bipolar disorder, just in a milder and more chronic form.This disorder needs to be treated with specific drugs. Microgynon is useful only in female hormone balance.
