Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My doctor has prescribed me migraleve since i suffer from terrible migranes and i cannot take naproxen due to the fact im pregnant. I am 10 weeks and have taken the pink ones almost daily since 6 weeks they are that bad. But now ive read alsorts on the web and am.worried im doing damage to my baby?
Paracetamol is absolutely safe during pregnancy. But the safety of codeine and Buclizine use during pregnancy is not established. Codeine if used in the later stages of pregnancy can cause withdrawal symptoms in the baby. And if used during labour can cause breathing difficulties in the baby. Hence I think it may not cause major problems if used in the early stages of pregnancy. So please consult your Doctor whether to continue during later stages of pregnancy. The doctor may continue if benefits to the mother outweighs potential risk to the baby. Hope this helps. Have a nice day.
