Is Mirena IUD Advisable For A Person Post Double Mastectomy?

Hi. I am 44. I had Triple Negetive Breast cancer 6 years ago. I had chemo and a double mastectomy. This put me into menopause. I just had blood work done and my FSH # is 101. My question is, can I have my Mirana IUD removed without having to worry about getting pregnant?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

In most women who are still having periods, the FSH would normally be less than 20, the upper limit being approximately 21.

Menopause is considered when the FSH is between 25 to 134 approximately so your value of 101 means that you are likely in menopause and should be able to remove the mirena.
This should be confirmed by your doctor.

I hope this helps
