Is MoviPrep A Safe Medicine To Take?

My husband 72 will be going for annual colonoscopy( colorectal cancer 9 yrs ago) and we are seeing a new doctor because we moved and always took golightley but now will be taking moviprep. Are they both just as safe? I remember a few years ago there was a problem with kidney issues with a prep. Thank you in advance
