Is Mucinex The Right Medicine For Ear Blockage And Sinus Infection?

I seem to get sinus infections often and am taking antibiotics to assist - my ears stay blocked and pop - I travel in my business so know this makes this a bit worse - how long should I feel so tired and worn out though with coughing, etc - taking mucinex to help also.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that blockage in ears with a recent history of sinus infection seems to be due to fluid behind the ear drum leading to ear fullness coughing can be due to Post nasal drip..
Only Mucinex will not completely resolve the symptoms and I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS view x ray or MRI scan can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

You can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine, do saline nasal irrigation, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room..
You can also be advised decongestant nasal sprays containing Xylometazoline or Oxymetazoline..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
Do warm compresses around nostrils..
