Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doctor, My son is 6 months old and I stopped breast feeding him two months back. From birth he s been on nan pro since my lactation was very poor. I m worried that he s dependent on nan pro and cow s milk. He does not prefer solids much so we are taking that on a slower pace. Please let me know whether it s OK to continue with nan pro. And would the over feeding of formula milk have affected my baby?
Hello and Welcome to Healthcare Magic Thank you for Writing to us,
Formula milk is also a healthy choice for your baby, as you said you're not getting enough milk to feed your baby, however only formula milk or cow's milk won't be enough at this stage of growth, since he is 6 months old he can have solids, babies take time to adjust according to the change in food habits according to the body's capability to digest the food and also their taste buds adapting to the new tastes other than milk, so my advise to you would be to just feed your baby two hourly in small quantities alternatively with solid and milk, try giving him rice cereals and mashed potatoes or half boiled egg, mashed veggies or even veg fritters, or any crispy veg chips just very small in number try different tastes and see what your baby likes,
