Is Naproxen Advisable For Persistent Throbbing Pain In Head?
I have the and osteo arthritis, I have been having throbbing pain in my head, always by my left temple and going to above my ear. I am on methotrexate and was also on naproxen (which was stopped 2 months ago. Today I was sent for a blood test re temporal arthritis. Should I go back on the naproxen - my arthritis Doctor is away until next week?
Hello! Yes, naproxen is a good analgesic for osteoarthritis, but you must be careful about its side effects like stomach ulcers and impairment of the kidney, when it is used for long time! You must take contemporary also ranitidine( an anti H2) to protect the stomach, and normaly do the analises of the kidney every 6 months! Best regard! Dr. Brikena Dautaj
