Is Neosporin Effective In Managing A Yeast Infection?
my doctor gave me fluconazole 200 mg. One dose per week. I had my foot broke 6 months ago and I quit taking baths as often because of the cast. Could this be the cause of the rash? My doctor thinks I have something similar to a yeast infection. Also can I use Neosporin to heal some of the more serious spots. By the way I am male.
A fungal infection of your skin is called tinea, and usually has a circular shape, itches, and spreads out over time. It could be that you got it from not bathing as much, it also prefers moist, dark places. Taking Fluconazole is the right treatment. Neosporin is an antibiotic medication, and so would not have any effect on a fungal infection. If you wanted to use something topically, you could use an antifungal like Clotrimazole.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
