Is Nitrofurantoin A Good Alternative Of Ciprofloxacin?
I was precribed ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice a day on 8-15 my DR senet it thru the mail order have not received it. had to go to EMer Room because of blood in urine they gave me a precription for nitrofurantoin macrocrystals 100 mg twice a day. show i go ahead and get the nitrofurantoin will they both work the same.

In urinary tract infection use of older drugs like nitrofurantoin depends upon development of resistance of bacteria to it in your region. So if you are in the region where sensitivity is still there then it can be used. Blood in urine must be investigated thoroughly, so consult surgeon as early as possible. Other advise for UTI - drink plenty of water through out day
