Is Nitrofurantoin Advisable For Frequent Urination?

My mother has frequent urination during night time is more and day time atleast she will go more than 15 times, she recently hospitalized and came from ICU from then this problem arised.. one of the doctor has prescribed Nitrofurantoin tablets(MARTIFUR), she is taking from past 4 days, no improvement, can you please help us on this

See , Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic used to treat utinary tract infection (UTI).
Symptoms of UTI are frequent urination and burning micturition.
So , if your mother is having UTI , then nitrofurantion can be given.

If i were your doctor then i would have prescribed some urine alkaliser syrup like Cital to treat the condition early.
