Is Norethisterone Safe While Having Negative HCG Test Result?
Hi, Just to confirm, my period has been delay for 52 days, as my usual is 28 - 40 days. I ve checked HCG test and it was -ve. I go to a clinic and the doctor gave me Norethisterone. Is it save to consume Norethisterone as i m not sure i m pregnant or not. The doctor did not check my urine and blood as he said I ve be test HCG this morning and it were still -ve. Is it possible i m pregnant but the HCG result is -ve? And is it safe for me to consume Norethisterone? As useful advice for me, as we have been waiting for almost 2 years but these no sign of me being pregnant. Thanks in advance doc! Really need your thoughts.
Hi I think you can't be pregnant if your test is negative. You can take norethisterone for inducing periods. Also if you are trying to get pregnant for last 2 years, get yourself evaluated. Get a thyroid profile and prolactin level and a ultrasound done to see uterus and ovaries and a semen analysis for your husband. You can go for ovulation induction with timed intercourse for conceiving. Talk to your doctor regarding this. Hope it helps.
