Is Novlon Tablet Safe To Treat PCOS For A Person Trying To Conceive?

Hello, i am fed up of irregular periods since 3 years, Thyroid since 4 years, though i have polycystic ovaries from 3 years. i am not getting regular periods.. last month is have consulted a doctor she has suggested to take Novelon tablet from periods of 2nd day. i didnt understood y she has prescribed me. morover i am plan to hav 2nd baby. pls help me.

I feel there has been some misunderstanding between you ad the prescribing doctor. Novelon is surely a medicine to treat the PCOS and make your periods and menstrual cycles regular, but they are contraceptives too. So chances are nil that you can conceive while taking these tablets. I advise you to re-visit the doctor to clear the misunderstanding regarding conceiving so that he/she can change the medicines that do not prevent pregnancy or you can consult a different gynecologist.

In addition, I have no information regarding the medications for your thyroid if you are taking them. I am concerned because untreated thyroid disorders are a major contributing factor for irregular menstrual cycles. So if you have not, do start on medicines for thyroid after consulting your physician or endocrinologist.
