Hello Welcome to healthcare magic forum!
Thanks for the Query,
Contraceptive measures are good to avoid unplanned pregnancies but it should'nt cause disturbances in your physical or sexual health.
You should not use the NuvaRing vaginal ring if you have:
untreated or uncontrolled high blood pressure;
heart disease (coronary artery disease; uncontrolled heart valve disorder; history of
heart attack, stroke, or blood clot);
a blood-
clotting disorder or circulation problems;
problems with your eyes, kidneys or circulation caused by diabetes.
The NuvaRing vaginal ring will not prevent
pregnancy if you wear it only during intercourse. You must wear the ring around-the-clock for 3 full weeks (21 days).
As you said its painful, i Recommend you visit your doctor and get to know your safe period and enjoy sex without harming your health and developing complications from contraceptive measures and even avoid unwanted pregancies.
Hope this helps! Please visit your gynaecologist.
Wishing you good health
