Is Ondansetron Safe For The Treatment Of Food Poisoning?

I ate some bad seafood and begin to vomit and have a serious case of diarrhea . I went to the emergency room and the doctor gave me ondansetron 4mg , dicyclomine 20 mg, diphenoxiatro (lomotil) 15mg.
Is this to much medication because the ondansetron is for a cancer patient, or if you have had chemotherapy treatments. I haven't had either. I'm not a cancer patient.

Hello,

I would like to reassure you that Ondansetron is not for cancer patients only. It is an anti-sickness treatment.

It is given to patients having chemotherapy or radiotherapy for this reason. It is also given to patients who have gastritis or before anaesthesia or in pregnant women who have excessive vomiting.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sabina Hussain
