Is PSA Level Of 34.7 A Cause For Concern While Having Prostate Cancer?
I HAVE NOT TAKEN THE LUPRON SHOT EVERY SIX MONTHS AS DIRECTED BY MY UROLOGIST BECAUSE I CAN;T AFFORD THE SHOT, I VE ONLY GOT TWO SHOTS IN THE LAST 24 MONTHS. HOW WILL THIS AFFECT MY PROSTATE CANCER TREATMENT. I VE COMPLETED THE 12 WEEK RADIATION TREATMENT, I AM 1 YEAR OUT, MY PSA NUMBERS HAVE BEEN 0.05 AND 0.08 . INITIALLY MY PSA WAS 34.7. DO YOU KNOW OF A PATIENCE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR THE LEUPROLIDE INJECTION.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Sorry to hear you are suffering from prostate cancer. Leupromide is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist well indicated in the management of this proastate cancer. It produces good results though may be very expensive as well.Sorry i may not know any patient assistance program for this.I will however suggest you see your Urologist as being an expert in this field and since he may have many patients suffering from this condition, he may know patiant assistance program. Reduction of your PSA from 34.7 to 0.005 and 0.008 is very good.It show good eveolution.I will suggest you again see your Urologist for evaluation since you are done with your radiation therapy. Hope this will help Wish you good health
