Hi, My husband is 54 and has never had a physical. I had noticed changes in him. He a diabetic with high blood pressure, and cholesterol. Prostate cancer is very prevalent in their family. He went to have his blood for his A1C. That he should have his PSA drawn also. His levels came back elevated 6.34. What next????
As you have mentioned a family history of prostate cancer, I would suggest him to get evaluated for the same.
The PSA level of 6.34 is definitely raised, and a prostate exam by a urologist and a prostate biopsy would be the next steps. The further plan would be based on the results of the biopsy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
