Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dr. My father is 95 years old with a history of hypertension. Now a days he has fluctuation in his BP from 140 - 180 and 50-80. doctors have prescribed amalong and Nebicard tablets for Hypertension. For antacid he was having cintrapro tablets which was not changed ( since last 3 days) to Pansec. Is Pansec better than cintapro? He complains of morning sicknetss ( vomiting feeling) in the morning now a days..
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concerns. Pansec contains Pantaprazole, which reduces the gastric acid secretion as it is a proton pump inhibitor. Cintapro contains Cinitapride, which is a gastroprokinetic agent and antiulcer agent. Comparitively, Cintapro seems to be better for the symptoms your father is complaining of. In case you want to use Pantoprazole instead, which is more effective in terms of controlling gastric acid production, its combination with Domperidone would be better to be used. Kindly consult your Physician once before taking any such decisions. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
