Is Peritol The Right Medication For Cough And Wheezing In A Child?
My 5 year old daughter suffered from cough with wheezing over 2 days and she is as fuzzy eater too...I have been instructed to give Peritol 2.5 ml three times a day with citricine, salbutamol and prednisilone 1.5 tablet a day.
My daughter is suffering from cough with wheezing for twice a month repeatedly and doctor asked to continue Peritol as mentioned above for period of one month. Please kindly let me know this can be helped to solve the issue and are there any bad effects?

Understanding your concern.As per your query your daughter have symptoms of cough and wheezing which seems to be due to severe upper respiratory tract infection.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles with pinch of salt water. Take expectorants. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Steam inhalation is very effective for you. Peritol is advisable along with all preventive measures. Consult pediatrician without any delay. Doctor may order blood test , throat swab test or may take history. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin or penicillin at least for 10 days along with decongestants and mucolytic agents. Mast cell stabilizers such as sodium cromoglycate is effective to prevent infection.
