Is Plan B Recommended After Irregular Intake Of Contraceptives?
Hi, I ve recently had unprotected sex and I m on the birth control pill. However, I ve missed two pills, one in the first week and another in the second of my pill pack. I was just wondering if I need to use Plan B; the emergency contraceptive pill or am I protected from pregnancy?
Yes, there are always chances of your being pregnant, after missing the tablets. However, the chances are more with missing more tablets and less with missing less tablets. Also, the chances are more, if the unprotected sex is done on the day of missing the dose or on just previous or next to this day. Therefore, in my opinion, if you do not want to take a chance of being pregnant, than emergency contraceptive pill is always advised.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
