Is Plan-B Safe While Breastfeeding?

Hi there. My husband and I were intimate without protection. I am 4weeks post partum recovering from a csection. We did not use protection and I am afraid that I might have gotten pregnant. I went to the pharmacy to pick up a plan b one step pill. However I have yet to take the pill because I am exclusively breastfeeding and I have never taken anything like this. I am skeptical to take medicine due to the many side effects and possible harm to the baby. I am not sure what to do.

Hi,

Plan B can be taken during breastfeeding. Fully breastfeeding can cause protection but still there is a possibility of being pregnant. You may think for a more accurate contraception method such IUD. You can take e pill this time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
