Is Postinor 2 Effective In Preventing Pregnancy?

Good night doctor. The day I had sex was on my ovulation day and he ejaculated in me. I took postinor 2, 22hours later at 10 am but I overslept and took the 2nd pill 17. 5 hours after the first pill. Am I still safe since it s an emergency contraceptive.

Understand your concern.

Postinor-2 is an emergency contraceptive.
It is used to prevent pregnancy when taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.
It will prevent 95% of expected pregnancies if taken within the first 72 hours.

Take one tablet as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse.
The sooner that you take the tablet, the more effective.
The first tablet should be taken no later than 72 hours after intercourse.
Take the second tablet exactly 12 hours after the first tablet.

Yes it is safe because you had taken with in the 72 hr of sex.
But for safer side you should confirm by urinary HCG kit/blood HCG or by USG.

If it is positive, still you can use progout abortion kit up to 3 months of pregnancy.
