Is Prednisone Effective In The Treatment Of Hearing Loss?
I have been diagnosed with sudden hearing loss due to some type of viral infection. I have been prescribed Prednisone 10mg taper for 12 days. I am a 51 yr old otherwise healthy female, except for allergies/asthma/chronic dry eye. My ENT says SHL is rare. How effective is prednisone in treating this? Thank you.

Prednisolone is a corticosteroid and anti-inflammatory drug and helps to reduce inflammation. Of course, you will feel better after using it, but you have to cure the real problem.
