Is Primolut Injection Advisable For Delayed Periods?
Hello, I had very light spotting for 1 and had days and was supposed to see my period after a few days but still haven t seen it. Went for a pregnancy test and came out as low HCG levels so can t be too sure to confirm pregnancy. The DR gave me primolut injection. Is this ok?
Hello dear Understand your concern. Primolut N is norethisterone, a synthetic progesterone used for irregular period. Also used for to delayed/preponds the period. Some time spotting during pregnancy may be due to low progesterone. Because of low progesterone, pregnancy can not be carried. So It can be given to maintain pregnancy in molar pregnancy or to delayed period.
But never take this injection without consulting gynecologist. You required close follow up. And do Abdomen USG
Hope this may help you. Best regards Dr. Sagar
