Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
On pristiq and Lexipro. Now I m having bad side effects. Like migraines and depression is worse. Should I ask to switch to Prozac and pristiq? Prozac really used to help me. I have ulcerative colitis. So I have to be careful with my depression. Seeing a therapist and psychiatrist, but wanted to ask you.
Thanks for asking at ehealthdesk. I read your question and I understand your concern. You can switch to Prozac but with tapering dose of lexapro i.e. decreasing by 2.5mg per week.. and Overlapping it with Prozac. However Prozac is recommended in youngers and lexapro in old age. Also do mentle relaxation excersize like Yoga and Meditation. Do regular aerobic excersize thirty minute a day five times a week. Keep yourself involved in some activities. Join support Group. Have a sound sleep at least 8 hours at night. Hope it helps best. Don't forget to rate this answer. Take your best care. Regards Dr Ejaz
