Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Why can t I continue to take my prozac. I have taken it for about 30 years. Should I abruptly go off the prozac (flouozathine) . I am feeling very nervous and cannot sleep since stopping the prozac. What are the reactions if I continue to take the prozac with the metoprolol.
Hello, There is a serious drug interaction between prozac and metoprolol. You should not take them together. You could continue the prozac and take another form of blood pressure medicine or continue the metoprolol and be switched to another depression medicine like citalopram that does not have the drug interaction with metoprolol. Talk to your doctor about which way to go with this Regards
