Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Preliminary testing re a persistent stomach condition resulted in a diagnosis of a possible stomach ulcer. Subsequently, the physician prescribed Rabeprazole Sodium (20 mg, yellow pill R 20 ). Should I alter my diet to get the maximum benefits of the medication and would you consider one tablet every 12 hrs. excessive..? I am a 78 yr. old male with no previous history of stomach disorders ~ thank you.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, of course you can alter the diet as long as your clinical diagnosis is concern, and in my opinion first try to avoid, coffee, alcohol, smoking, heavy or spicy meal prior bed, have more alkali contain diet like green leafy vegetable avoid citrus fruits, else this is nothing to worry, hope this information helps, take care.
