Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have PCOD since few years. I just got married a month ago. We had anintercourse day before yesterday. I am trying to conceive. But I do not have periods from last few months. Should I take regestrone 5 mg tablets toget my periods. Will it affect in conceiving
Regestrone mg tables can be used to bring on a normal menstrual cycle in women who are having irregular menses. It is taken daily (5mg) for 7-10 days during the last half of the cycle (right before menstrual flow should begin). Usually this does evoke a return to normal regarding the expected menstrual flow. I have had experience using the similar medication Provera, which works in an identical manner. Once the Regestrone is stopped the menstrual flow should begin.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. David Girardi, Internal Medicine Specialist
