Is Registrone Effective At Treating Irregular Periods?
Hi My name is Rinku. I am 39 years old. I take 10 registrone tablets to regularise my period. 2 tablets per day for 5 days.
In this month I have taken Registrone tablets from 18th Feb till 22 Feb. But till now I have not got my period. What is the reason behind it ? Normally I get period within 5-6 days after completion of taking this tablet but this time it is delayed.
Hi there, After going through your question, I am of the opinion that: 1) Regesterone is a progestogen, ie a drug which is used to induce bleeding by withdrawal. 2) It is not a treatment for irregular cycles, it just gives a false sense of satisfaction of getting periods. 3) In a normally ovulating female, progestogen is not required for inducing periods. 4) You need to get a hormonal profile done like fsh, lh, prolactin, TSH, testosterone and insulin. 5) You also need an ultrasound test to rule out causes of amenorrhoea.
So, my opinion is that you should not keep using Regesterone and find out and treat the cause of irregular periods.
Regards, Dr. Shikha
