General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since your daughter is having increased seizure activity with sertraline while she was stable with sodiun valproate, you are suggested to report to the treating doctor so that the doses can be gradually tapered. Sudden stoppage of the medication can cause worse symptoms, inform the treating doctor urgently. Yes, sertraline which is an SSRI is associated with the risk of seizure in especially patients suffering from major depressive disorders.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
