Is Soframycin Advisable For Foul Odour And Redness On The Navel?
Hi there....im 36yrs old female....from past few days my belly button smells really bad, foul smell u know...there is redness n little bit of itching feeling once or twice a day....liquid flows but not much...like no discharge.... i have two kids 10 n 5 yrs...normal delivery... Can i use soframycin?

1. belly button infection is common among people with pierced navel but being in a dark,warm,moist area also provide a favorable environment for microorganism like bacteria,fungi and resulting symptoms [foul smell, itching,redness,pain] develop as secondary infection due to scratching
2. associated factors like being overweight,diabetes,overexposure to sun are also risk factors of getting the same.
3. Since there is foul smell coming out from navel you should see your doctor immediately to prevent a simple and treatable situation becoming major problem
4. Do not use over the counter creams/powder as they will only further irritate the area or aggravate the problem instead go for prescription ointments and make sure to take the entire course of antibiotics/ antimicrobials if recommended by your doctor to make sure there won’t be a recurrence, till then clean the area with saline solution,tea tree oil, hydrogen peroxide or alcohol to reduce navel infection
