Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Respected Doctor. Am 28 years old female unmarried. I had recently gone through a needle procedure for a para ovarian cyst. After that procedure I was going through low fever below 100 above 99 and very fatigue and pain in my body. Low fever was there before procedure as well. Now for diagnosing the origin of this fever I had gone through complete body tests and in the test of Elisa TB Igm value is 0.84 and interpretation is that its on borderline what does that mean that am going through TB? Plz reply.
I want to know first the value of TB IgG and since when did you have these symptoms? Anywhere, since the Elisa TB Igm value is borderline and you have physically symptoms (fatigue and pain), it would be better to take a Quantiferon Test. It has a higher specificity and sensibility for TB diagnosis comparing with ELISA Test. A single borderline IgM Value may not have any meaning, but together with clinical symptoms must be considered and further investigation is needed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Renata Shkjezi, Infectious Diseases Specialist
