Is Tegretol Toxicity Related To Taking Paradex For Cervical Laminectomy?
Hi, I am trying to find dextropropoxyphene hydrochloride with paracetamol (Paradex) I was given this while in hospital after a cervical laminectomy while I was taking tegretol and ended up with tegretol toxicity and I wondering if it could have had anything to do with it. Thankyou.
Hi, Welcome to healthcare Magic! The paracetamol or dextropropoxiphene are unlikely to increase the carbamazepine toxicity rather the toxicity can be cause by carbamazepine itself because this drug is known to cause adverse effects. It also increases the toxicity of paracetamol the dose of which should be limited to 2 grams if one is taking tegritol. I hope the advise would be informative and useful for you. Take Care!
