Hi,
Telekast L contains
Levocetirizine and Monteleukast. Levocetirizine is an antihistaminic to treat the
allergic reaction which is mainly due to the release of histamine and its resultant local action. Levocetirizine blocks the histamine release thereby, it reduces the allergic reaction caused by the substance. Side effects of the drug are dizziness, dry mouth, nausea, etc.
Monteleukast is a
Leukotriene antagonist which helps to cure the inflammation of the bronchial airways thereby improving breathing. It is used in
allergic rhinitis, chronic asthmatic attacks,
bronchitis, etc. Side effects of the drug are headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. Prolonged use of Monteleukast can cause memory problems and other mental health problems. Prolonged use means more than 6 weeks. Discuss with your doctor for duration of treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
