Is Terbinaforce Plus Advisable For Facial Acne And Blemishes?

Hi Doctor, I am Pradeep facing a problem with acne and skin darkness. Once I consulted a skin clinic and the doctor prescribed me a cream called Terbinaforce plus cream. After using this I can see better results like, my skin got bright and fair. And also I have no acne problems. But I hear that this cream cannot be used for face and acne problems. And also the product has banned. Can you please kindly help me regarding this.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain Terbinaforce Plus cream contains Terbinafine HCl 1% that is an antifungal medication and it is not generally used to treat acne as acne are not seen to be caused due to fungal infection..

Also it has no brightening agents or depigmentation properties, therefore it cannot lead to reduction in blemishes and hyperpigmentation..

Acne is caused generally due to causes like clogged pores, hormonal imbalances, oily skin,bacterial infection, inflammation etc..

Therefore the treatment is generally a combination of anti acne creams and oral and topical antibiotics..

You should consult a dermatologist and get evaluated and he can advise you topical agents like salicylic acid facewash, benzoyl peroxide cleanser or gel, clindamycin gel..
Retinoids like Adapelene can be applied..
Oral antibiotics like Minocycline and retinoids like Isotretinoin can be advised.
Avoiding oily food, excess sun exposure can be beneficial in faster resolution..
