Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

You seem to have done the best care for him by removing the stinger and applying the ice packs. Most of the time this is what a patient with wasp sting needs. Sometimes if symptoms are really bothersome than applying local steroid cream might help release the local discomfort and swelling. Using oral benadryl might help with itchiness as well. Wasp stings are at risk of infection and if the patient in 2-3 days is having more swelling and redness than he had the first day than infection can be considered and antibiotics prescribed.

So i would say that teva-amoxiciline would be indicated if in the review visit in 2-3 days the redness and swelling are not settling but getting worse. On the other hand when an antibiotic is started it is not safe to just stop it because it may cause the child to develop resistance to the antibiotic and amoxiciline is a very good antibiotic used for many infections and it would not be good to develop resistance to it. So i would recommend that you continue it for at least 3 days to reduce chance of resistance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
