Hi iam 31week pregnant my tsh level is 3.7 now my doctor suggested to use thyronorm12.5mcg . Is it good for me and my baby ? What type of side effects may I get , I never used any thyroid tablets till now.should I inform doctor when I get severe side effects
Hello dear I understand your concern Thyronorm is completely safe in pregnancy. Aim of the TSH in the pregnancy is below the 3 mIU/L. It prevent the miscarriage, preterm labour, pre eclampsia and slower developmental milestones in baby due to higher TSH (> 3 mIUL/L). It is safe and cause minor side effects like Muscle weakness, nervousness, headache, nausea, diarrhea. All these side effects are tolerable. Repeat the test after 6 week after starting the tablet.
