Is Thyrox 75mg Advisable In Pregnancy?

As per my doctor my thyroid level was high and due to that i have been advised to take thyrox 75mg tablet. I am 33 weeks pregnant and after taking thyrox 75 first my feet are swollen and now slightly my hands also started swelling lightly. please advice

Hi,thyrox is completely safe in pregnancy.Swelling of hands and feet is a common event in pregnancy.It can be somethung absolutely normal but since you have been diagnosed as hypothyroid to rule out any pathological cause you must get your haemoglobin,TsH and blood pressure and urine protein checked once.If all these are normal then its physiological and nothing to worry,just keep your legs elevated.take care.
