He prescribed the following: Thyronorm 100mg before breakfast Obicure powder (dinner suppliment) Topamac 50mg at bedtime TAYO 60k once every 15 days My concern is about Topamac 50mg. Hi,

Yes, please take the prescribed medicines as per your pharmacist / doctor. Topamac, also known as topiramate, is a medication primarily used for the treatment of epilepsy and migraine headaches. While it can be prescribed for these conditions, its use in the treatment of thyroid disorders is limited and not typically recommended.

Topiramate does not directly target or regulate thyroid function. It works by affecting the neurotransmitters in the brain to control seizures or prevent migraines. Therefore, it is not considered a standard treatment for thyroid disorders such as hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism.

Thyroid disorders are typically managed using specific medications and therapies targeted at regulating thyroid hormone levels. Hypothyroidism is commonly treated with thyroid hormone replacement therapy, while hyperthyroidism may involve medications that inhibit thyroid hormone production or the use of radioactive iodine therapy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
