Is Toprol XL Advisable For A Person With Bradycardia?
I thank you. My husband had some Pvcs and bradycardia and hi BP on recent stress test and echocardiogram. They prescribed Toprol XL 50 mg. he already takes Mycardis for Hbp. Does this sound safe since beta blockers can cause bradycardia also. Thanks. Bob

It depends upon how low his heart rate is. That is a low dose of Toprol so it may be fine. If you are concerned check his heart rate and call his doctor if it is low or if he begins feeling dizzy.
