Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How effect is TORADAL? is it a actual pain pill? My daughter has had surgery on her jaw 3 times in recent months. They put teeth, it got infected and had to be removed. Then last Thursday and again today a different dentist scrapped her jaw bone. She is in pain, level 13 on a scale of usual 1-10. She can t take pain meds with codeine. It makes her sick. Would Toradal help? Is there something stronger? She is very depressed with this pain.
You mean Toradol, right? It is a real pain killer and its a strong one .This medication contain Ketorolac that is a Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug ( NSAID) that reduce the inflamation and kill the pain.We use this drug in moderate to severe pain. Your daughter can use it only if she has not any kind of bleeding and if she is less than 17years old. Use it 20mg once a day not more than 5 days .
But before using this medication i suggest to try first Ibuorofen this is a drug that we often say our patient to use and its very effective. Use 400 mg every 6 hours , if the pain gets better use 200mg until the pain stops and your daughter feels better .
Hope these help . If you have any questions please feel free to ask .
