Is Tramadol Advisable For Occasional Headaches?

Aspirin was my remedy for headache, but that s no longer acceptable because I m now on Eliquis for atrial flutter. Tylenol is completely ineffective. I was prescribed Tramadol that I used once and it was effective. Given that it is a (or similar) a narcotic, how safe is it for occasional headaches?

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Tramadol is the least potent narcotic and it has the least addiction potential. It is alright to take tramadol once in a while for the management of headaches.
However, if you notice that you have started taking tramadol more and more often, even without a headache, then it will be concerning.

Hope this answers your question
