Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doctors, I am suffering from hair fall for a very long time now. I consulted a doctor and he suggested tugain 10% and it worked great for me. I left using it for some months and the hair fall started again. Now I am using it again but i havent seen any positive results. All i see is small hairs developing and falling off (eye lid hair sized). And my hair density has decreased too. Now the doctor advised me to use Trigaine. Can you please suggest what is the difference between the two.
Tugain (Minoxidil) 10% when used topically in the form of a solution or drops it prevents hair loss and stimulates re-growth resulting in longer, thicker and increased numbers of hair and hence used in the treatment of hair loss or male pattern baldness.
Whereas Trigaine solution is also used in the treatment of hair loss or baldness, however, in addition to Minoxidil it also contains Azelaic acid and vitamin A. Which are found to be effective in the treatment of acne.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Both are generally used in the treatment of hair fall however they differ in their composition.
1. Tugain solution (Minoxidil) 10% is used topically in the treatment of hair loss.
2. Trigiani solution also contains Minoxidil (2%) in addition to Azelaic acid and vitamin A (Tretinoin). Both Azelaic acid and vitamin A are found to be effective in the treatment of acne as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
