Is Tryptomer Effective In The Treatment Of Arthritis?

hello, my mother is 52 years old. she is been diagnosed arthritis problem. she is been prescribed Tryptomer 10mg medicine along with other medicine. from internet i came to know that tryptomer medicine is used for antidepressant treatment. can you please let me know why this medicine is prescribed for her current problem

I understand your concern.
Tryptomer medication contains 'Amitriptyline' as ingredient.
It works by inhibiting the uptake of norepinephrine and serotonin in adrenergic and serotonergic neurons. Hence, it is used for treatment of depression.
This medication is not concerned for the treatment of arthritis, which is mother is suffering from.
She might have been prescribed with this medication as she could have been depressed with having of arthritis or due to pain from the disease.
Once she is stabilised, your doctor might put her on proper medication for arthritis.
Kindly do the necessary follow-up as suggested by your doctor.
