Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My husband had wrist surgery yesterday and is on oxycodone 325 mg 4x a day; however, he is finding that it isn t controlling his pain very well. He was wondering if he should switch to Tylenol No. 3 or 4s. Percocet in hospital made him vomit. What do you suggest.
I understand that wrist surgeries can be painful specially because we cannot stop movements for long.
Oxycodone is a better drug as compared to Tylenol. What you can do is supplement diclofenac 100mg with Oxycodone, and that should relieve the pain better.
If nothing works out, try calling your doctor again and ask him to advise injectables as sometimes oral dosage are just not enough.
Wish you husband a speedy recovery
Thanks
