Is Verorab The Right Medicine For Rabies Infection?
hi! a cat saliva dropped in my eye while playing with a friendly neighborhood cat last monday, will i get rabies? i have received complete/full rabies shots last 2011 (5 shots of verorab). I decided to go to a animal bite clinic for consultation last wednesday, they told me that I need to have 2 doses of booster shots of verorab plus favirab. favirab is very expensive so I decided to go to our family doctor and ask his opinion, he told me that i dont need the favirab and only verorab. I took the first shot of verorab last wednesday then the second today. I have been reading online about rabies shots and it confuses me, some says that favirab is needed some dont. Do I still need favirab?

HI Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic.
There is no need to take Favirab now . It would have been better if it was given initially but now there is no use of Favirab .
As of rabiesvaccination there are many schedules , each doctor follows any one of it . So if you have completed full 5 doses then no need for anything extra.
Hope you find this information useful. Any clarifications or Queries feel free to ask.
