Is Vyvanse A Safe Drug For Children?
My 5-year-old grandson was given a prescription for Vyvanse to treat his ADHD. I have done some research and it s not recommended for anyone under 6. He also has severe asthma. Is this really safe for him to take? He s a typical 5-year-old with a lot of energy. By the way, I m not just his grandma, I ve had custody of him since he was 6 months old. Thanks.

thank you for using our service. I read the questions in detail I don't just found your concern. It is very important to discuss with your doctor why he recommended this medication and it could younger than six years old. I agree with you that this medication can give problem in Growth and also the problem with weights. It can delay the grove and make him lose weight. Is this medication is used in younger than six years old , the kid should have a very close observation and close to supervision from the doctor. You need to monitor the Child weight and height. I would advise to hold the medication and discuss more details about benefit vs side effects of it in your kid.
